Sue Speake grew up in Texas and moved to California in her twenties. She taught elementary school for seventeen years.
Sue received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, with an Early Childhood Specialization from North Texas State University (aka University of Texas) in 1975. She received an Elementary Teacher’s Certificate in Texas that same year. Sue earned a Master’s of Science Degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling from California State University Northridge in 1991 and became a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 1994. Sue is also Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.
Her experience as a therapist covers all ages and many issues, including substance abuse. She has worked with groups, families, couples, and individuals providing support for chronic and severe issues as well as offering a little support to help folks get through a difficult time.
Sue is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been serving patients in Southern and Central California for over twenty years.
Sue technically retired in 2016. She currently enjoys writing books, blogging, tweeting, introducing people to MicroSteps® Therapy, and spending time with family, friends, and her two cats. Sue also enjoys growing herbs, roses, cooking, walking, and learning just about anything.
